What cupping is
In cupping, glass cups create gentle suction on the skin, usually across the back and shoulders. Where a massage presses into muscle, cupping lifts. Many guests find it a pleasant, warm, slightly pulling sensation and enjoy it after a long period at a desk or in the car.
What to expect
- Cupping can leave round marks on the skin that usually fade in a few days.
- You stay comfortable and covered except for the area being worked on.
- Tell your therapist if you take blood thinners, have sensitive skin or any medical condition, and check with your doctor first.
